U.S. History II Project
Dear GMHS Community:
As part of their U.S. History II project, the Class of 2020 is conducting a non-partisan voter registration drive for the midterm election taking place on November 6, 2018. The goal was to register Georgetown residents and participate in the “get-out-the-vote” efforts. Some students are planning a variety of activities on Election Day to celebrate the end of their project and give back to the community. One such activity will be a food drive.
Members of the Georgetown community are invited to bring a non-perishable food item to Penn Brook on Tuesday, November 6th, and all donated items will be taken to The Abundant Food Pantry in Georgetown. Students are also looking forward to working with local businesses to solicit donations to help this cause. Businesses can participate in the food drive between now and the Election Day by providing non-perishable food items or gift cards to grocery stores or food establishments. If you would like to donate a gift card or contribute by providing non-perishable food items, please let us know – we would certainly love to hear from you.
In addition, if you would like us to provide you with a receipt of your donation, please let us know, and we will email it to you upon receipt of your donation. Please note that all donations, including the gift cards, are going to The Abundant Food Pantry.
While the Election Day is not until November 6, we would love to start collecting donations as soon as possible. If you choose to participate, you can give your donation to one of the class representatives. If you are a parent, your child can drop it off with one of the teachers below.
Please let us know if you have any questions or comments. Your participation in this event is very much appreciated.
